The Year of the Horse (Red)
At the heart of this design is the Horse — drawn from Vladimir Tverdokhlebov’s iconic fountain “Signs of the Zodiac”(Almaty, 1980), inspired by the Tengrian twelve-year calendar.
One of twelve mythological figures encircling the Sun, the Horse symbolises strength, movement, and the enduring rhythm of time. The original monumental composition, cast in bronze and set above a celestial mosaic of smalt, reflects a deep connection between nature, cosmos, and human life.
Reimagined by the artist’s daughter, Anara, this silk piece celebrates the spirit of the Steppe in honour of the Year of the Horse (2026).
100% Mulberry Silk. Printed on both sides. Hand-rolled edges. 90x90cm.
